Review of Serenade Of The Seas cruise ship of Royal Caribbean International scored 2 out of 5 by plattelake69 on 2/12/2010 4:12:14 PM. plattelake69 said We were VERY disappointed and surprised to see gratituties charged on to our bills when it was our understanding that we had paid for the cruise upfront IN FULL. When I got back to the states and reviewed my e-mails, I did note that one of the e-mails stated that we would be charged but, with SO MANY e-mails flowing back and forth from Alara to myself and siter-in-law, it got 'lost in the shuffle' and translation. When I called Alara with this problem from the ship, her attitude was that I was aggravating and bothering her. I was upset and not happy with her attitude at all. 2 out of 5 stars" about Serenade Of The Seas. The dining experience on this cruise: "Staff was wonderful - absolutely wonderful. Food was generally good but very 'hit or miss'. Example - the lobster and lamb were superb but the side dishes lacked in taste. 3 stars"; as for the onboard entertainment: "Comedians were hilarious - Newly Wed Game hilarious - great show entertainment. No problems getting a good seat. 4 stars"; the stateroom onboard Serenade Of The Seas: was "Stateroom was nice but smaller than past cruise lines. There were no lotions, creams, etc. in the bathrooms. The Stateroom Help was Tremendous!! VERY good! 2 stars"; the Royal Caribbean International shipboard staff was "All of the staff was exceptional over other cruise lines. I can't say enough good about them. 5 stars"; and the onboard programs were "There was a communication problem with many activities on board. The newsletters would say a place/time and then we'd get there only to find out that information was incorrect - event already done or at another place/time. Very disappointing. One example - we went out two nights to dance to Zag Zig (spelling) in advertised locations and times only to find other activities going on at the locations. 1 stars".

Ports of Call
Aalborg, Denmark
Virgin Islands, Antiqua, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Maarten, San Juan.
VERY disappointing and not prepared to pay for use of local bathrooms and chairs on the beaches. Our group of 4 felt 'nickled and dimed' every time we turned around. We took a tour on each island only to find out not everything advertised was included. Example: we had to pay extra to see a waterfall - the rum factory was closed and we could not tour it although we paid for it - there was no 'rum punch' offered as advertised on the majority of the tours. Very disappointing.
