Whether you are a new couple, newlyweds, or just taking some time to travel without the kids it is important to have some romance in your relationship. I don’t think there could be any better way to add some spice than taking a vacation together.
Here are my TOP 10 romantic cruise destinations for you lovebirds–
- Venice, Italy. Need I say more. The city of romance. Itineraries range from 7 to 14 nights with sailings that either begin in Venice or ports in Venice during the itinerary. Chances are the itinerary will also hit other romantic locations, such as Rome!
- Alaska. The landscape is beyond gorgeous, which I always find romantic. Hey, and it doesn’t hurt that when you are glacier-viewing it does tend to get a little chilly…so wrap up in a blanket for two on your balcony with some hot chocolate and snuggle while enjoying the view.
- Hawaii. Once again, stunning scenery. Take a helicopter tour over a volcano. Swim under a waterfall. You will probably even see a rainbow or two (or a double rainbow??). How romantic is that?
- New Zealand. Sailing the amazing fjords in New Zealand will be sure to leave any couple in awe and enjoy their time together.
- Australia. Although there are cruises to both Australia and New Zealand, I thought this exotic destination was so important I wanted to list it separately. Check out the Great Barrier Reef which is a must see. Don’t miss out on the extraordinary dining and unique wildlife.
- Tahiti. I am assuming you are seeing a trend for the South Pacific…another great destination for the love birds. Time slows down here, with amazing beauty and a laid back atmosphere there is time for you to focus solely on each other.
- Germany. Try a Rhine River cruise. Step back in time with medieval castles, vineyards, and towns–what else could you ask for? It would be hard NOT to rekindle the romance along the rivers of Europe.
- Canada, New England. If you go at the right time of year you will be lucky enough to experience breathtaking fall foliage, and warm coastal towns with amazing history and wonderful locals. The best time visit is in the fall, late September to mid-October.
- Bermuda. Relax on the pink sand beaches with your life lobster. The location of Bermuda makes for a wonderful cruise because you usually only port in Bermuda. You are not sailing to several ports of call, so you usually stay in Bermuda for a couple days which leaves plenty of time for exploring. If you enjoy golf, there is not a better place to play.
- Northern Europe. This is one on my must-see list. The Norwegian Fjords will make you speechless, and an amazing back drop to a romantic vacation. With wonderful history and a new country to explore each day, you are sure to have a wonderful time.
Hopefully this will help you decide on your next cruise destination with that special someone in your life. You really can’t go wrong when you decide to spend some time together.
