We all know Disney always goes above and beyond, providing vacation memories that will last a lifetime. The average fare for a Disney cruise is typically higher than other similar itineraries, however, they do offer a great value.
Disney not only provides large staterooms, unrivaled youth programs, adults only areas, and magical entertainment, but they also allow you to bring your own alcohol onboard and sodas are offered at no additional cost.
Free soda is available at the Beverage Station on Deck 9 of the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. There are 2 Beverage Stations on Deck 11 of the Disney Dream. However, you must pay for alcoholic beverages and sodas at the bars and lounges onboard.
For some cruisers, the ability to bring onboard your own wine, liquor or beer is a huge savings. Bottled water, juice and soda is also allowed onboard.
Just keep in mind these guidelines:
- Alcohol or bottled water must be brought on in a carry-on bag, not in your checked luggage taken by the porter. The maximum allowed size of your carry-on bag is 22 inches wide, 14 inches high, and 9 inches deep. Each passenger in your cabin can have a carry-on, and you can fill it with as much beer, wine, or liquor you can fit.
- You are not restricted to consume your drinks in your stateroom. Pour a glass and go out and about on the ship, or into a show. You can even bring a glass of wine to dinner, however, if you bring the whole bottle be prepared for a corkage fee of $18 per bottle.
- Purchasing a bottle of liquor in a port of call as it is usually less expensive, there are not restrictions once you get back on the ship. You can also enjoy this onboard.
- If you purchase liquor in the duty-free shops onboard it will be held until debarkation.
- An interesting tidbit, if you bring it onboard you cannot take it back with you off of the ship. So, you will need to drink it or pour it. So don’t over pack as it will be a waste of money, or a major headache.
No other line has such a flexible beverage policy, enjoy the value of a magical Disney cruise!
