A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes–Your Disney Cruise Line Honeymoon

When I think of a honeymoon cruise, taking a Disney cruise wouldn’t necessarily come to mind at first.

But did you know that Disney cruise ships are very popular with newlyweds?

And there are oh-so-many reasons why.  In fact, if I were to do it again, I would certainly consider taking a Disney cruise for my honeymoon.

Who doesn’t want to re-live their childhood with the person they want to spend the rest of time with?  And Disney Cruise Line definitely knows how create those once in a life time experiences.

So what is there to do on a Disney cruise that are ‘adults only’? The answer, a lot lot lot.

Experience Senses, the unbelievable onboard spa and fitness center–

  • Relax in one of the private villas and get a couples massage.  Now that is my idea of a honeymoon activity!
  • Other treatments available include body wraps, facials, aromatherapy, and salon services that include manicures, pedicures, hairstyling and blowouts, plus teeth whitening at the Smile Spa, and a barber shop for traditional men’s grooming services.
  • The interior of the Senses Spa & Salon is a calming palate of green, brown and blue hues accented with a tropical flower motif and rich wood finishes. Slip into a state of bliss in the rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam room and sauna. Before and after treatments, you are able to relax and linger in the Relax Room, as well as enjoy the rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam room.

Adults Night Out! Specialty Dining Onboard Disney Cruise Line

Most cruise lines now offer a fine dining experience at their specialty restaurants onboard. These dining venues allow you to experience a 5 start restaurant at a nominal surcharge.

Most of Disney Cruise Line’s amazing restaurants are included in your cruise cost, however, there are a two additional dining options you should know about.

Palo–

An adult only restaurant located on all three of Disney’s ships, Northern Italian cuisine for dinner. You must be 18 years of age or older to be able to experience this venue. Makes for a romantic nigh out and don’t worry, if cruising with little ones they will be having too much fun in Disney’s youth programs to notice you’re gone!

You will be able to enjoy brunch, high tea, or dinner. At brunch or high tea you can dress in resort casual cruise attire but leave the shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops in your cabin. For the dinner service, men must wear dress shirt or jacket and women should expect to show off a nice a dress or pantsuit.

The cost is $20.00 per person for Brunch or Dinner and $10.00 per person for High Tea. Any alcohol ordered will be additional.

The Countdown has Begun! Brand New Disney Fantasy to Debut March 2012

Last week, January 8th , the brand new Disney Fantasy left its building dock at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. And it wouldn’t be Disney if she didn’t float out of the dock with a fireworks display!

Within a week, the ship will start sea trails in the North Sea. Sea trials make sure she is safe for sailing, and running beautifully prior to her maiden voyage on March 31, 2012.

Sister-ship to the Disney Dream which debuted with style in 2011, the Disney Fantasy will also sail 7-night round-trip voyages from Florida, rotating Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

With these two ships, Disney Cruise Line is cementing their goal to provide something for everyone : relaxing “me” time for the adults, imaginative fun for the kids and exciting family time for all, attention to detail and world-class hospitality.

The Disney Fantasy features many of the innovations found on her sister ship, such as the AquaDuck (first water coaster at sea!), with several new guest experiences exclusive to the ship that are sure to delight every member of the family. New experiences found on the Disney Fantasy include two Broadway-style musical spectaculars for the Walt Disney Theatre, a dining experience at Animator’s Palate where guests’ own drawings magically come to life, an interactive adventure quest starring the Muppets, a splashtacular water play area called AquaLab, a sophisticated nighttime entertainment area for adults inspired by European travel and much more .

In other words, a vacation complete with family fun and sun.

And Disney is already offering cabins for the Disney Fantasy, with her first sailing to be completed on March 31, 2012. Just in time for spring break! With a new ship, there are great promotions and cruise deals to be had.

How To: Complete Your Disney Cruise Online Check-In

Sailing on a Disney Cruise? Jealous!

Before you hit the seas, one of the most important things to complete is your pre-cruise registration.

Disney Cruise Line has created an check-in process online to save you time at the pier. Completing these beforehand will  get you onboard quickly, so you can enjoy your vacation!

To get started, just visit www.disneycruise.com.

  • You will need to register an online account with Disney Cruise Line, this protects your information so no one access to your reservation but yourself.
  • On the right hand side look hover over the Planning Center tab (last tab, top right of page), under that click My Online Check-In. When this page comes up on the right hand side you will see a box titled Log In & Retrieve Reservation. This requires the email address and password that you just registered for your Disney online account, as well as the Disney cruise line reservation number and your date of birth.

In the Know: Disney Cruise Line Alcohol and Beverage Policy

Disney Cruise Line does allow guests to bring aboard bottled water soda or juice. You can’t pack large quantities in your luggage, but if you can carry it on you can bring it.  Guests are allowed to bring on board wine or champagne, but please be aware that any fragile items need to be carried on. Disney will charge a corkage fee if you wish to drink it in the dining room, the new fee is $20.00 per bottle. Please note that beverage coolers are not permitted onboard.

The drinking age on all Disney Ships is 21 and is strictly enforced.

Guests can purchase alcohol in a port and bring it to their stateroom.

Disney Cruise line is unique in that they have a 24 hour beverages station that includes soda. On the Disney Magic and Wonder it is located on Deck 9. The new Disney Dream has 2 beverage stations, located on Deck 11. Soda is an additional charge if purchased at any of the bars or lounges.

Disney also offers several packages available from room service for discounted prices.

  • Pkg. 1    6-Domestic Beers (Budweiser, Bud light, Coors or Miller light)
  • Pkg. 2    6-Imported Beers (Heineken, Amstel light, Becks, or Corona)
  • Pkg. 3    3-Imported & 3 Domestic
  • Pkg. 4    Choice of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale or Orange Soda
  • Pkg. 5    6-16 oz bottles of Evian water
  • Pk6.6    24-16oz bottles of Evian water

Other wine, champagne and beer packages are available to purchase on line before you board.

A sample package is the Sweet Welcome and an Elegant Farewell. This package includes a bottle of Martini & Rossi Asti in your stateroom when you arrive and a bottle of Brut Champagne to have with dinner on the last night of your cruise ($52.00).
