Central Park Neighborhood on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class of Ships

Stepping onboard Royal Caribbean’s mega-ships, the Oasis or Allure of the Seas, could be intimidating for some. These ships are truly cities on water. There is so much to see and do it is hard to figure out just what to do first.

The Central Park Neighborhood on these marvels absolutely needs to be on your list of areas onboard to see first. You won’t be able to believe you are still on a cruise ship.

  • The first thing I fell in love with is all the greenery. Royal Caribbean brings the outdoors in with Central Park, a revolutionary design in which the center of the ship opens to the sky and features lush, tropical grounds spanning more than the length of a football field.
  • The sun shines down from above and there are so many quiet, tucked away places to sit and relax among trees, bushes, and tranquil gardens. This is a perfect place to read a book or just take a few moments to relax and enjoy some solitude.
  • This area also boasts some wonderful shops. My two favorite boutiques are Coach and the Britto Art Gallery. I must say I brought home a little something from both, my husband was thrilled ;) .Truly one of the most relaxing shopping experience I have ever had.
  • Two upper-scale specialty restaurants are also located in Central Park. Chops Grille is the first restaurant which offers a fabulous menu of steak and seafood dishes. I would recommend the Grilled Alaskan Halibut. This a one of a kind dining experience from the décor to the menu and service.
  • 150 Central Park, the most exclusive dining venue on the ship, provides an intimate dining experience. This warm setting offers a multicourse tasting-style menu which is paired beautifully with their wine tasting program. Whichever restaurant you choose, there is no way you can go wrong.
  • Also enjoy Vintages Bar, Trellis Bar, and Park Café. The Central Park Neighborhood is a wonderful place to unwind from a busy and eventful day.
  • I loved this area so much the next time I sail on the Oasis or Allure of the Seas, I will do so in a Central Park balcony (I previously sailed in the Boardwalk Balcony, what an experience!). These balconies actually look to the interior of the ship into the park. So you can enjoy this serene area even from your balcony.
