My family and I just returned from a week on the dreamy Carnival Dream sailing out of Port Canaveral, Florida.
We booked it last minute (husband actually got time off!) which I do not recommend because it was extremely stressful attempting to get everything in order and everyone packed for a week in just two short days.
We drove to the port, a nice option to save money if you do book last minute as airfare costs considerably more the closer to your travel date.
The ship is one of Carnival’s newest, beat out only by the new baby of the fleet, the Carnival Magic. It is a very large ship with a gross tonnage of 130,000 that can hold 3, 646 passengers.
Overall, I was very impressed with the
ship. It was extremely clean, fun and vibrant. The 3 spectacular water slides got a big two-thumbs up from us and everyone we met onboard. The ship’s Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director were absolutely hilarious and made sure everyone knew they were on the Fun Ships, that’s for sure.
The entertainment was varied and done well, and the Dream’s Dancers were super friendly. They even offered hip hop classes during their down time!
The entire staff was friendly, helpful
and went out of their way to ensure our vacation was a memorable one. They were very detail-oriented and especially attentive to my daughters. They always had their favorites, whether is was soda or meal or towel animal, ready even before they were requested!
The waitstaff made dinner fun with songs, dancing, magic tricks and special napkin folding lessons. The food was delicious, as it always is on Carnival but we really enjoyed the variety.
We had a wonderful time and made lots of memories that I know I will always hold dear. My children are 9 and 13 and we always have a house full of kids, so it was nice to do something with just the four of us.
What better way to reconnect with your family then on a Carnival Cruise vacation, where fun times on the FunShips are endless?!
