I know this sounds pretty insane. I mean, who tries to have a terrible time on a cruise vacay?
Nonetheless, there are those negative Nancies out there that just seem to go looking to have a miserable vacation.
If you’re doing these Top 20, you’re going to have a Terriblay Cruise.
[HINT: Don’t do these things and you should have a fabulous time]
You/You’re:
- Didn’t book with a travel agent—they help you a. know what to expect b. choose the the best cruise for YOU c. ensure you have everything you need and everything is perfect for the best cruise ever)
- Didn’t research the cruise line to make sure it fits your needs.
- Didn’t research (or at least glance over) the ports of call on your itinerary.
- Didn’t research shore excursion opportunities to see what is available or what will be the best experience for you.
- Don’t get off the ship at the ports of call.
- Sleeping in your room the whole time.
- Brought your laptop (aka work) with you. Cruising is the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the real-world!
- Not meeting any new friends.
- Not taking a dip—whether it’s the pool, whirlpool, splash zone, FlowRider, or water-slide
- Not going to the shows each evening.
- Not participating in activities such as karaoke, bingo, or the great scavenger hunts.
- Not going to the deck party (so fun!).
- Not sitting up on deck (in the morning, with coffee in hand–ahh), watching the ocean sail by at 20 knots
- Eating at the buffet the whole time. Not trying the main or specialty restaurants.
- Didn’t bring appropriate clothing—you’re freezing, burning up, didn’t bring enough, feet hurt because you didn’t bring the right shoes for that excursion
- Not sailing with friends. If you have another couple to travel with, invite them. Or make NEW ones onboard!
- Not exploring the ship to see all it has to offer.
- Not looking at the daily newsletter, well, DAILY for activities, times and great info.
- Didn’t bring your patience for others…having a negative outlook.
- Not relaxing and enjoying your vacation.
I truly hope you have a wonderful cruise vacation and can leave these top 20 attitudes and ideas at home.
