As all of the cruise lines are adding to their fleet it seems like each new ship has a ‘first’ for sailing. The Norwegian Epic has the first ice bar at sea. The Allure of the Seas has the first zip line at sea. Now Disney Cruise Line is providing us with the first water coaster at sea.
The Disney Dream set sail for her Maiden Voyage last week, on January 26th. On board this ship will be the AquaDuck, the first ever water coast at sea.
This thrilling coaster is 765 feet and has a 4 deck drop. You are in a tube which at one point carries you over the side of the ship with ups and downs. You end up in a lazy river at the end of the ride. How awesome is that?! Just FYI children will have to be at least 48 inches or taller.
This ship will also have three fresh water pools–
- Donald’s pool is designed for families. Parents and children can enjoy this pool and make sure you look down to see Donald Duck on the bottom!
- Next is Mickey’s pool. This is a kids only pool. The maximum depth is 2 feet and is in the shape of Mickey Mouse. This pool also has a slide and an area where crew members will host games and activities.
- Last but definitely not least is Quiet Cove Pool. This pool is adults only reserved for guest 18 years or older. It is set up for a relaxing quiet get away from the children on board.
The Disney Dream has so many hidden secrets. I can’t wait to get on board the ship. Who could resist the AquaDuck or Quiet Cove Pool??
