Dining Options Onboard Princess Cruises

Specialty dining on premium cruise line, Princess Cruises, is well, special. You also have your choice of anything from the main dining room to Princess’  Ultimate Balcony dining.

Let’s go over all of your dining options and let you know which venues have a cover charge, or as Princess says, a ‘nominal fee.’

There are dining options to match any mood, whether it’s pasta – served with freshly prepared sauces- or grilled halibut, complimented by a chilled glass of chardonnay.  Even if you have a hankering for pizza, there’s plenty right by the pool.  I do believe my son left enough for the rest of you!

Whatever your craving is, Princess is sure to have it!

In the Main Dining Room, Princess offers two types of seating–traditional and anytime.

Traditional dining is the classic cruise experience, allowing you to dine at set times (early or late; 5:30pm or 8:15pm) with the same server and table-mates each evening.

Anytime dining offers a more flexible dining option. It is similar to your traditional restaurant seating at home. This is just what it says, allowing you to dine with whomever you’d like at anytime between 5:30pm and 10:00pm.  You will have the same menu, dining ambiance and service as would with the traditional dining. You will not, however, have the same server–although if you find you prefer a particular server, you may always request them for the next evening!

There are also several Specialty Dining options onboard Princess ships. Specialty dining on Princess is truly a treat. The crew is the best on the ship, specially trained for offering different dishes. What really distinguishes the specialty restaurants from other dining venues is that each item is cooked a la minute for the guest that ordered that item. As a result, it receives more individualized attention and arrives at the table promptly after it is prepared.
