Award-Winning Cruise Ship is Cruising to Alaska with a Breathe of Fresh Air

A breath of fresh air is cruising to Alaska, hitting summer 2013.

Speaking to travel partners and press this past week in London, Dan Hanrahan, Celebrity Cruises’ President and CEO, announced a preview of itinerary plans for the summer of 2013.

As part of this announcement, he revealed that the award-winning Celebrity Solstice will join the Celebrity Century and Celebrity Millennium in offering Alaskan cruise vacations.

The Celebrity Solstice, the 2,850 passenger flagship of the Solstice Class, has been named “Best Premium Ship” in Travel Weekly’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards (US) and the entire Solstice Class was recently named “Best Cruise Ships” by Frommer’s 2011.

Celebrity Solstice is the ideal platform for a genuine modern luxury vacation in the gorgeous state of Alaska,” said Hanrahan. “The ship’s sheer beauty will perfectly complement the region’s incredible scenery. And with 85 percent veranda accommodations, our guests will have that many more opportunities to take in the endlessly appealing views, combined with our unparalleled onboard experience and service provided by the best group of hospitality professionals in the world.”

Complete details of Celebrity’s summer 2013 itineraries – including the full slate of featured destinations, cruisetours and dates of departure – will be announced when the first of the series opens for booking in early March.

About the Celebrity Solstice:

Celebrity Solstice is one of the more decorated ships at sea. So it’s no wonder that it’s full of “firsts.” Like the first Lawn Club at sea. The first Hot Glass Show. The first cruise line to have 5 women, also known as “the Leading LadiesSM” redesign, and redecorate the staterooms. Some other things that set Celebrity Solstice apart are its specialty restaurants. Chef Jacques Van Staden’s passion for food has taken the restaurants, the food and the overall dining experience to a whole new level in the cruising world.

But staterooms and specialty restaurants are only part of this ship’s charm. Celebrity Solstice also has the AquaSpa by Elemis and fitness center, where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments or push yourself in a workout with one of our trainers.

If only life on land was as good as life on Celebrity Solstice!

Adults Night Out! Specialty Dining Onboard Disney Cruise Line

Most cruise lines now offer a fine dining experience at their specialty restaurants onboard. These dining venues allow you to experience a 5 start restaurant at a nominal surcharge.

Most of Disney Cruise Line’s amazing restaurants are included in your cruise cost, however, there are a two additional dining options you should know about.

Palo–

An adult only restaurant located on all three of Disney’s ships, Northern Italian cuisine for dinner. You must be 18 years of age or older to be able to experience this venue. Makes for a romantic nigh out and don’t worry, if cruising with little ones they will be having too much fun in Disney’s youth programs to notice you’re gone!

You will be able to enjoy brunch, high tea, or dinner. At brunch or high tea you can dress in resort casual cruise attire but leave the shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops in your cabin. For the dinner service, men must wear dress shirt or jacket and women should expect to show off a nice a dress or pantsuit.

The cost is $20.00 per person for Brunch or Dinner and $10.00 per person for High Tea. Any alcohol ordered will be additional.

  • Let Princess’ staff know of all medical and/or special needs for your children. They will make every effort to accommodate them. Please be advised that Princess Youth staff may not offer individual one-on-one supervision.
  • All youth activities are fully supervised by a Youth Activities Coordinator.
  • The ‘Junior Cruisers’ will also participate in 2 special dinner evenings where they can enjoy dinner without their parents, but get to enjoy time with their new friends and counselors.  The teens will have a formal get-together during 1 of these 2 dinner evenings. This gives them a chance to dress their best and a photographer will be available to take individual and/or group photos.
